Very very busy. Nonetheless, I am disgusted by what I have seen today.
Folks, please forgive me. I have been so consumed with work lately that I have not even had enough time to relax and chill out, much less write a post. I am sorry.
I must tell you, though, that today I am disgusted. With Tom Suozzi, and Newsday. Tom Suozzi, for displaying just how out of touch with reality he truly is, and with Newsday, for, as usual, carrying his water, and advancning its wealth redistributing, socialist agenda.
Here's why. Suozzi holds line on taxes
After he took the stage, Suozzi was all smiles before a crowd
of 200 supporters, declaring, "The fiscal crisis is over."
Mr. County Executive, the only fiscal crisis that is over is the Governmental crisis. You have sucked the very life out of Nassau County residents to balance your budget. You have raised their property taxes, raised their sales taxes, attempted to impose an income tax, raised taxes on home heating oil, and did it all under the guise of helping our residents.
Residents are being taxed out of their homes, literally, on a daily basis. And the only thing Tom Suozzi cares about is the Counties' budget surplus.
And, he won't even give the hard working taxpayers of Nassau County a tax cut, now that the Government has more of their money that it should:
People need a chance to recoup some of their tax dollars they are
burning up in their cars," said Gregory Peterson, the Republican opposing
Suozzi's re-election bid in November. "It's time to give something back to the
taxpayers."
Clearly the word 'crisis' is now taken out of the discussion of the
county's finances," Comptroller Howard Weitzman said. "But continued vigilance
is very important, and that's not gone away."
Yeah. Folks, when you hear a liberal Democrat talk about 'vigilance' it either means that you A)Are not getting your tax cut, or B) Your about to get a tax hike.
With Tom Suozzi and the nassau Democrats, anything seems possible.
So, this just goes to show you, folks, these people only care about one thing, and I have said it since day one: Their rise to power was all code lingo for bigger, more bloated government. And it was about their fear that debt might trigger a serious amount of spending cuts. They came to power to ensure that limited government never came to pass.
Tom Suozzi is 100% out of touch with reality, and priority. Lets give him a healthy does of reality on November 8th.

Remember, in a previous Newsday article Howie Wietzman, when commenting on patronage jobs in Hempstead said that there was nothing wrong with "some patronage". WHAT??? Patronage is patronage, no matter how big or small. That's like saying grand theft is wrong, but petit larceny is OK. Are we to believe the words of this comptroller when it comes to the county's finances after a statement like that?
