Whatever you do, don't give in. The fight goes on, and our lifestyle is at stake.
My friends, I know you are all very upset. Like me, I'm sure that many of you watched the election returns Tuesday night with a Stomach turning Nausea. You probably thought it was all a bad nightmare and you would soon wake up.
I still feel sick today. What happened on Tuesday was inexcusable. We as a Republicans, and more importantly, as Conservatives, had the issues on our side. This administration has launched a full scale assault on Long Island Suburban Life style and threatens to unravel everything we have worked to achieve here.
And yes, the District Attorney lost. Yes, Tom Sabellico and Jeff Katz lost. And yes, we lost Long Beach.
There are many who say now that we are simply screwed. We are not. This is what we call bottoming out. We have to rebuild, and most importantly, recruit new, young people to run for office in this party with fresh ideas. We are losing the battle over young people in this party, as many of them, who may be conservative, are joining the Democrats simply because we don't offer a good enough alternative.
And now, for some political realities coming soon to you. Tom Suozzi will primary Eliot Spitzer. He will spend alot of money. It will be more competitive than you think. Spitzer will still win. Suozzi will become hated by every element in Albany, and lose alot of popularity here at home as Spitzer and the media gun him down. This will give us the chance to take back the County Legislature in 2007. In fact, the media have already dropped the crosshairs on him:
NY Daily News: Suozzi promotes pal linked to sex with sec'y
The headline says it all, folks. This is only the beginning. Tom Suozzi has signalled his committment to running for governor, and if he does succeed, or if he doesnt, he isn't running for election again here in 2009. Kate Murray just crushed Harvey Levinson in Hempstead. She is a rising star. We should support her for whatever higher office she seeks.
So, folks, continue the hard work we have always done for the causes you care about. This party is not dead, as the media would have you believe. With reforms, we can come back, and we will.
And, by the way, I will be keeping a close eye on Tom Suozzi. Rest assured, we will be watching.

It may look like it was hard work, but my office space new york city blog was simple.
It is now 12/7/2005. Has anyone heard from our CE? What is he doing for the county? Or, has he already abandoned us for the Governor's office?
