Happy New Year Folks; Black Nassau Democrats ought heed my message

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I hope everyone had a MERRY CHRISTMAS (That means you too, Jon Kaiman), a Happy Chanukkah, and a VERY Happy Kwanzaa. I also extend Happy New Years wishes to all.

All of you are no doubt wondering what I've been up to lately. Well, I have been actively seeking a full time job, while also working part time in the meantime. Er, yes. Aside from that, I have been making plans for a Graduate Program, helping out my father in his office, who has been suffering from a Somewhat degnerative Condition of late, and I have also been doing my best to enjoy the holidays. They were very busy. I made the mistake of shopping in stores.

So, with all that in mind, lets get to work. Suffice it to say, since I last spoke to you immediately after the 2005 election cycle, things were not good. I was quite dissapointed with the results. In my judgement, they were illogical. It is true that Mr. Peterson did not make an aggressive race out of it, but his candidacy had credibility due to his experience.

You are all no doubt wondering what my take is on the situation developing in the County Legislature right now. Well, folks: I will start it off like this: This is what happens when a County Executive declares himself a lame duck before the term even begins. This is also what happens when a Political Party declares one of its core consituencies for granted.

This was bound to happen. People like Roger Corbin and Lisanne Altmann are both angling for higher political office. Roger Corbin feels under appreciated. Tom Suozzi will be MIA all year long this year, in his (most likely) futile run for Governor. Nassau will be without a leader in the era of Tax and spend. We will be on auto-pilot. Corbin/Altmann are trying to grab power. It is understandable.

It is also joyous to watch. Presiding Corpse Judy Jacobs is a very partisan person underneath her Granny persona. She seldom allows major GOP legislation out of Committee. She ignores and patronizes people she doesnt like to deal with. She deserves this treatment.

I think that the GOP decision to embark on this path is brilliant. It has created such anger, dissent and infighting among Democrats, that their party unity may never be intact again. Democrats are yelling at each other in the streets. DingyLookingBeardMon- Aka Craig Johnson, demanded that Corbin come to the table to talk with Democrats. Corbin walked away. Great Neck extremist Dems are talking of a primary fight against Lisanne Altmann. this is quite simply beautiful.

Oh yeah, and the party is talking about running Howard Weitzman for County Executive. I smell a GOP comeback in 2009, or sooner if Suozzi actually wins this thing.

But, permit me to get back to a point I was making about constituencies taken for granted: All Black Democrats in Nassau County ought to listen to me now, and listen well: This party does not care about you. they never did. Look at the Communities that you live in that are Dominated by Democrats: Lakeview, New Cassel, Hempstead, Roosevelt and Uniondale. These areas are blighted. Your Democrat leaders that Promise you so much every time you vote for them have done nothing for you. And now they actively seek to squash one of your own because he would dare interfere with their fragile Majority.

Every year you vote Democrat, under the promise of positive change for the future. Do you ever get it? Are you as Blacks any better or wealthier or more prosperous today because of Democrats? Think long and hard about that.

Roger Corbin wants to be the first black leader of the legislature. Tom Suozzi and company have actively sought to squash this ambition in favor of the status quo. Is this the same Democrat party that Promised you upward mobility?

Think about it.
