Be Careful what you wish for, Democrats. Jacobs win puts Dems in headlights

Well, ladies and gentlemen: It has finally come to an end.

Jabba the Jacobs has held on to her leadership post. And with it, goes any hope of bi-partisan and open Government that includes the views of the entire body.

Now, folks: I recognize that the Democrats are the majority. However, I think that Corbin and Altmann were beginning to recognize that with El Suozzi running around the state for Governor, a whole array of problems were going to start to arise in Nassau County that could cause all sorts of political problems for their party. They probably thought that bipartisan alliance would help to bring the perception of good government to the County, and perhaps deflect some of the blame off Jacobs and her Democrats.

There was a real chance here, folks, for reform. but now it is gone. Now, we will resume the era where Republican legislators are ignored and their legislation is tabled.

And no, folks, that does not make me happy. It upsets me because, while the Political ramifications of this might prove positive in the end, taxpayers are suffering so much in this County, it is getting unbearable to watch.

And, folks, it seems quite clear now that some of those major problems are indeed coming to a head:

Whether it is the Nassau UMC running out of money, or the NassauRX program administered by Howie Weitzman coming under investigation, or the County going deep in the red this year because of overestimated sales tax revenues, things are going to start to go south real fast.

A little bi-partisanship might have helped to give the public a little confidence in their Government. But instead, we have rubberstamp the Hut, all over again.

So all you people out there on the left that are celebrating because JuJu is back in control, remember that its all on you now. the problems that come up, will be yours alone. You have zero excuses left and zero blame to place anymore. Enjoy.

what a bitter little boy you are.
The fact is that there were countless pieces of legislation put on the agenda and passed.
How did the republicans treat democrats from 1996-2000? Like second-class citizens. How would they treat them if the reps had won last year? Like second class citizens.
The first thing Schmitt did in his failed putsch was to kill the mics of democrats who had the floor and walk out.
How bi-partisan was that?

If the Dems can do all they've done and still get re-elected in 2005, it shows us one thing: they still don't trust Republicans. To them, the Democrats are the lesser of two evils and the sooner this blogger realizes that, the better off they'll be in the future. The GOP will get back in control, I have no doubt about that, but it will take a few election cycles before that happens.
